Pain Management

Pain Disorders

If you are tired of pain sapping your energy and interfering in your life, acupuncture can help you manage it.

Pain can manifest in your body in various ways. On a graduated scale, pain can range from mild to disruptive to debilitating. Acupuncture has earned a reputation for treating these different types of pain extremely well.

Millions of adults are currently regular users of pain medications and these drugs come with risks and side effects. Acupuncture is able to help you manage pain naturally without these risks. I treat pain with the knowledge that your pain experience is unique to you and doesn't respond to a one-size-fits-all prescription. Different kinds of pain require different types of treatment and I use various acupuncture and cupping techniques to treat your pain and promote healing.

One advantage of using acupuncture to treat pain conditions is that you usually begin to feel better almost immediately after your treatment! If your pain has been chronic for some time, it will likely take more time to heal. Together we will build a consistent, comprehensive plan of therapy to lead you to long-term relief. I will often also recommend other holistic modalities and practices to enhance the healing process.

What is Cupping?

Cupping is a therapy in which a glass or silicone “cup” is attached to the skin by creating a vacuum with suction. This technique promotes blood flow and circulation, reduces inflammation, and clears toxins. Cupping is a branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is often used in conjunction with acupuncture for pain management treatments.

How does cupping work?

The vacuum/suction action of cupping encourages the release of tight muscles; it loosens and lifts connective tissue, breaks up and drains stagnation, and increases blood and lymph flow. And it does all of this incredibly rapidly and effectively. Just a few minutes of cupping can have long- lasting, beneficial effects.

Cupping feels good and leaves you feeling looser, with less pain and discomfort immediately. My patients love it!
